A family driven by passion, which has been growing pure saffron in pistils in the traditional way for 20 years in the beautiful hills of the Maremma in the province of Grosseto in Italy.

Abbate Y La Mantia represents an "obsessive" scientific and creative research that has managed to maximize the cosmetic effects of saffron. SAFFRON PISTILS

They are the result of slow and traditional cultivation and harvesting. The pistils are obtained from the dried flower, collected strictly by hand to avoid damaging the other parts of the plant. Each flower has only three pistils. To produce one kilo of saffron, approximately 170,000 flowers must be harvested manually in six weeks (flowering period) and to keep the properties of the spice unchanged, it must be collected during the first hours of the morning.d.
